New Year's Eve

Hola

New Year's Eve was different, but good.

During the day I went to a parade. It was funny, because all the men was dressed like lady's, is a tradition. There was a lot of pretty and creative costumes.

For dinner I went out to eat with my family. We ate at this really good pizza restaurant.
It took a lot of time to drive around in Otavalo, because every 10 meters there where men dressed like lady's dancing in front of the car and they wouldn't move until you gave them money...

Here in Ecuador they don't countdown as we do in Denmark so I wasn't quite sure when it actually was New Year...

When it's 12, you burn off those big dolls called Años Viejos, it's a tradition. You burn them off as a symbol for all the bad stuff you have done during the year and that next year you will be better.

Burn...
There is also a tradition that you eat 12 grapes and wish every time you eat a grape, but I didn't do that one. But I drank champagne with three lentils in, because that means good luck.
After all the traditions I went to a party with my his brother and his friends.

Love
